Rocky began his Professional career as a baseball player in the New York Mets Organization in 1994. He played Minor League baseball for 4 years before making the transition into broadcasting, which began his journey through music.
Now a valuable part of the Rickey Smiley Morning Show and host of Dance Club 21, Rocky’s entrance into radio was influenced by his love to entertain. He has always been somewhat of an entertainer: whether taking goofy pictures to get a laugh or showcasing as the class clown in school. He was also influenced by the power of radio and how a DJ (Jock) has an opportunity to be a positive influence in thousands of peoples lives.
In 1997 Rocky began his broadcasting career in Dallas / Ft.Worth. For six years he contributed #1 ratings for every day part (Morning Show, Mid-days, Afternoon Drive & Nights). During this time he formed his own record company – Harvest Hill Records, which helped him learn and study the music business. He has three CD’s under his belt and has produced remixes for the likes of Brandy, Destiny’s Child, Nappy Roots & 3LW. Rock-T has also appeared in two independent films: “Wash It Up” & “Diggin For Dollars”. Currently, Rocky blazes the airwaves for one of Radio-One’s Powerhouse stations 97.9 The Beat in Dallas / Ft.Worth (The Rickey Smiley Morning Show). He is co-CEO of Trakk Team Entertainment.
Rock-T has spent the last 8 years developing a strong following on the DJ scene not only on radio but in the streets, schools and clubs as well. Along the way he teamed up with long time business partner Kelam Wilkes and started their own Marketing and Street Promotions Company which now is known as Nu Glo Media.
