Hosea Chanchez joined The Morning Hustle to celebrate 20 years of The Game. The conversation covered his famous role, his health, his business and his past. Chanchez said he is in the best stage of his life. He described knowing himself, feeling whole and co-creating his life with the Creator.
He shares more with Malik Wright than many fans realize. Both were raised by single mothers in homes, but in real life his grandmother served as the matriarch, which gave him a sibling-like bond with his mom. Chanchez revealed he first auditioned and tested for Derwin Davis before landing Malik months later. The cast built a close bond as the show moved from UPN to The CW.
He also addressed dating rumors, confirming he never dated Tamera Mowry, the sister of his co-star Tia Mowry. He opened up also about Malik giving him an outlet. He grew up surrounded by supportive Black women, and the role’s macho confidence, modeled after Deion Sanders and Terrell Owens, let him release everyday micro aggressions.
Off screen, he announced his company, A Very Good Company. It is home to The Dawn of Good, a skincare line for men of color, and Good and Co, an upcoming wellness platform. Chanchez shared that he struggled with low testosterone after turning 40, including brain fog and fatigue. He said testosterone replacement therapy changed his life.
