LaShay B: 10am-2pm
Born and raised 30 minutes from Huntsville, Alabama in the small city of Tanner, Alabama. Lashay held many positions in high school, such as class proletarian, softball team captain, and spoke in various oratorical contests throughout her community. After graduating high school she went on to receive a softball scholarship to Alabama A&M University in 2001.
As a student athlete, again Lashay also received several awards including All Freshmen and All SWAC for consecutive years. Majoring in Communications and she minored in Marketing, Lashay decided radio was what she wanted to do.
As a junior Lashay began volunteering at 103.1 WEUP and went on to do her practicum for school at the radio station. After graduating from Alabama A&M University, Lashay decided she wanted to do radio as a career.
Eventually with Lashay’s diligence and hard work she was hired part time on 103.1 WEUP’s sister station WEUP 1700AM, producing a daily talk show called WEUP TALK, and producing various church shows on Sundays. After about a year of working part time on 1700AM, Lashay’s dedication was noticed and she was hired part time on 103.1 WEUP.
While being employed part time for both stations Lashay worked 7 days a week for about a year, all while having another part time job. In 2007 Lashay was employed on THE WEUP 2 EARLY MORNING SHOW full time with 103.1WEUP. The Morning Show has made several changes since 07, but Lashay remained and she is now host of own daypart, Middays with Lashay B, 10a-2p, Mondays – Saturdays.
